Benjamin Teare is a designer and director focussing on live experiences, pop-ups and exhibitions, for cultural and commercial clients globally.

He has led creatively on projects ranging from the closing ceremony of the Doha Forum in Qatar to a Miu Miu Club cultural salon in Tokyo; an exhibition taking over Italian heritage brand Zegna’s Milan headquarters during Salone del Mobile to the inauguration of SKP’s colossal luxury retail sites in Chengdu and Wuhan.

Following his training at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris, Benjamin was Associate Artist to Academy Award winning art director and costume designer Tim Yip (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, 2000, directed by Ang Lee) for a decade, responsible for design ideation of productions for San Fransisco Opera, Hong Kong Ballet, English National Ballet, Akram Khan, U Theatre and Yang Liping. Benjamin was Audio-Visual Artist for Tim Yip’s Love in A Fallen City at Shanghai Grand Theatre, Associate Artistic Director for Modern Media’s Gala Performance of Tim Yip’s Storm In Emptiness at a former ship factory in Shanghai, and Associate Curator for exhibitions at Shanghai Power Station of Art, Southbank Centre London, Today Art Museum Beijing, Essence Contemporary Art Museum Chongqing and Maison de la Culture Amiens.

Benjamin has lectured at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, Peking University, Shanghai Normal University, and Sotheby’s Institute, London.
